Only one of us has a college degree and, no, that degree was not in Business Ownership & Entrepreneurship. No one taught us how to do this. We're entirely self-taught (and self-made) entrepreneurs with big dreams and a slight iced coffee addiction. Sahara's background is in real estate and Micayla's...well, it's a bit all over the board. Everyone always told me: "Go to college, get a good education, get a good paying job, and retire at 60." So, that's what I did. I went to college... but... to play volleyball. I ended up changing my major 5 times because I didn't know what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I settled with a Marketing degree which got me my first job at a real estate office as a Social Media Marketing Specialist. I quickly fell into the mundane rhythm of: get up, go to work, workout, eat dinner, go to sleep. And remember thinking, "Is this really what 'adulting' is all about? This is awful!" Until I got the opportunity to rebrand that real estate office. And I immediately knew the calling on my life.
Two years later, Sahara and I launched Refined in June 2023 and quickly grew our "little" business to $10,000+ months, a booked-out calendar, and a steadily growing online presence. We often get asked, "How did y'all do it?!" That's why we've put together this mastermind. To learn from each other, spill the tea, and build an even closer-knit community of inspiring business men and women.
I didn't last long in college because you don't need a college degree to "sell" something. I learned that at a very young age selling my moms jewelry. I knew that if I put the work in, money would follow. So I got into real estate and did just that. Lots of money followed but it left me feeling empty... I knew I wanted to create something of value; something I could pass on to my family one day. After having my daughter in 2021, my "why" shifted and became the driving force for all you see today. I wanted her to see that women can create successful businesses and impact so many along the way.
Over the last ten years, I have planned, launched, and scaled four businesses (two being in real estate); trained over 500 people, either 1:1 or in masterminds; and have completely re-written my families legacy due to one decision. I'm nothing special - just a college drop-out with a big dream. It's not rocket science but I know I can teach you how to do the same.
No, the mastermind will not be recorded for public viewing. The whole point of this mastermind is to discuss real-time business ideas, struggles, hurdles, etc., amongst a community of like-minded business owners. The mastermind will, however, be recorded for those who are in attendance and will be sent to their inbox the next day.

Once your application is accepted and your payment for the mastermind has been received, you will receive two Zoom calendar invites for both mastermind session dates (May 14th and May 28th). We will start each session a few minutes early to allow everyone to jump on and make introductions. Again, we want this to be as personalized of an experience as we can make it! Each session will run for 1.5 hours and will hit on four different topics (you can learn more about those topics above). This is a super community-oriented and collaborative environment so be prepared with questions and ask away!
What all is included: 2 1.5-hour sessions with Sahara and Micayla; a 10-page workbook of more in-depth knowledge of what was discussed and ideas on how to implement and maintain the goals set; access to a community of like-minded business owners; and continued opportunity to be coached by Sahara and Micayla in whichever way you see fit for your business.

This mastermind is entirely virtual! So, come as you are! It will be held via Zoom so you will receive a Zoom calendar invite once your application is approved and your payment is successfully processed. We do encourage you to be as interactive as you want to be! This mastermind is designed to be collaborative so the more you put into it, the more you'll get out of it. Obviously, we will be on camera and we will kindly ask for you to do the same. This is so we can all gain a more personalized experience and grow in community.

We decided to have an application process so we can ensure those who actually own and/or operate a small business have first dibs at the limited spots available. If we could meet with all of you at once, we'd make it happen!
Don't let the word "application" scare you. The process is super simple! Click any of the "apply" buttons throughout this page. It'll take you to a typeform where we just ask for the basics - name, email, company, social media accounts, website, what you're struggling with as a business owner, etc. Once you submit that application and are accepted, you'll receive an email from us letting you know we are holding a spot for you with an invoice. The invoice will be dependent on your payment method. Once your payment is successfully processed, you'll receive two Zoom links for the two separate sessions to add to your calendar. And that's it!
